Can wife and I file together?

May 9th, 2012 by Questions

We own a house together that we are not living in with 89,000 still owing on the mortgage. I have student loans, she has 3 credit cards and I have 1. We owe all together about 7,000 in credit card debt.

What do we do?

Unfortunately I can’t fully answer this question without more infomation and as such I would recommend that you contact a local trustee directly. It may be possible to file jointly, but that will depend on your income and the breakdown of your debts. But if you contact the trustee they will review all those details and be able to answer your questions very quickly.
