my wife and i have gone our seperate ways due to financial issues. we both have our names on the house title and there is about $200,000 equity .. if i file for bankruptcy i assume the creditors can only go after my portion of the equity? look forward to your response.. ron

You are correct, your creditors would be limited to your share of the equity in the property. The only time this would change would be if your wife had signed on any of these debts. But without her consent the creditors wouldn’t have any rights to her share of the equity.
