Bankruptcy and Financial Assistance

January 19th, 2012 by Questions

Is their a more economical way to claim for bankruptcy if you are having trouble getting off of welfare. I would like to start improving my credit direction and I am not able to find permanent employment. The bankruptcy fees are not affordable when living with financial assistance.

Is their no way to start a bankruptcy claim with less fees for financial assistant individuals?

There is something that is referred to as the Bankruptcy Assistance Program that can assist those who are destitute. But you really have to be in a position where you are living in poverty and have no means to improve that situation (i.e. you are unable to work). To qualify for this you must meet with two trustees and be recommended for this program. However, in most situations where you do have the ability to work, it is more of an issue of finding work, you likely wouldn’t qualify. You would simply be told that you are in a position right now where your creditors can’t force you to make any payments, even through the courts, so you are best to wait until you are working and file the bankruptcy then.
