question

If claiming bankruptcy for a second time, do you have to show receipts and bank statements every month?

Regardless of whether you are filing for the first, second or even third time, you are required to submit a statement of income and expense each month to your trustee that includs proof of income and some receipts for special types of expenses. You should discuss this reporting requirement in detail with your trustee BEFORE you file as these monthly forms get more people in trouble than any other aspect of bankruptcy. 3 out of 4 people do every thing correctly – the 4th person doesn’t hand in their statements as required and therefore ends up in Court (paying more for their bankruptcy).

Do yourself a favor if you file – keep your paperwork up to date.
