HUGE DEBT

December 31st, 2009 by Questions

My husband and I have about 140 k in debt. We had managed to pay minimum payment plus more, but now I really feel strangled. I work nearly 80 hrs a week and I am worned out and see no improvement in debt going lower. What should I do? Can I file bankrupcy even if my husband doesn`t want to file on his?
Some debt is mine, some his, some together. Maybe 50-60k is mine. I don`t know what to do, i will go in maternity in about 3 months, that will be huge income lose and we already feel the burden.
Help me

You should probably have a chat with your husband and then together go and speak to either a trustee in bankruptcy or if that is too intimidating for you, a credit counselor.

You may each do what you deem best for you: that means, either of you, both of you, or neither of you may file for bankruptcy. You may file for a proposal together, separately, or not at all.

A free website was an easy first step, but really the tow of you need some more direct counseling/advice.
