due to my financial situation because of past tax debts, my husband and i seperated a year and a half ago, i moved away to try a new start
and lost everything, i just have have a car and my clothes, due to the stress of the breakup and financial hardships, I have to take medication and seek mental health counselling , my ex husband bought a house with his brother and they are allowing me to stay so i dont have to live on the street and have a monogomous relationship for the past 7 months.

If you are simply staying in the house, have no ownership stake in it never did so, then your ex’s and brothers house really shouldn’t be an issue.

I am not sure in what you mean by the initial causes being considered. Typically the causes of a bankruptcy, while identified, really don’t have any impact on the way a bankruptcy would progress.

In terms of being self employed, the major restrition is that you can not be a director of a limited or incorporated entity while in bankruptcy. You can still be self employed, but you will have to discuss with a local trustee for more details on how the business may be impacted and how you can expect that a bankruptcy will progress.
