discharge

October 9th, 2009 by Questions

My courthearing for first time bankrupt was in Feb 09. Court set discharge date first week August 09. I checked my discharge status on the Ontario Superintendent of Bankruptcywebsite and my dischargestatus is `hearing set`.
My trustee says documents are waiting to be signed by registrar. How long does it m=normally take to receive and does it come by mail from the trustee? It wouldn`t be held up for any reason would it? thanks

One Response to “discharge”

I can’t tell you how lonmg it will take the Court to sign and return your Order of Discharge. The good news is, if you really need proof that you have been discharged, you may use something called the “Disposition Sheet” which the Court signed back in February.

It used to be that documents sent to the toronto Court for signature had a habit of “getting lost” (just volume of paper really), but in the last year they’ve hired more staff and re-organized so it’s not a problem anymore…
