New bank account

I was told I need to open a new bank account before I file for for Bankruptcy. What if I have a credit card with the bank that will be included in the bankruptcy? Will they seize my funds?

I think you may have misunderstood your instructions – you should open a new bank account with an institution that you are not indebted to. If you have a credit card with a bank and you open an account they may draw funds directly from the account as soon as you file for bankruptcy.

Sorry, but you need to open another new account – someplace that you don’t currently have ANY dealings with.
