Renting and bankruptcy

Is it possible to get out of a lease during bankruptcy if I am unable to pay rent? Can I be sued for the full term of the lease?

Yes, you may break a residential lease if you file for bankruptcy. If you are going to do this, move before you file. It will be easier for the landlord (and you) to understand. If you move after you file an argument can be made that you must continue to pay rent – at the very least you’d probably have to pay additional legal costs to fight the landlord.
