Monthly Expense statements

I was just curious. If someone files for bankruptcy, they are required to submit an income/expense report, monthly.

Assuming it is okay to fax the report to the trustee.

How do I know for sure that the trustee has received the report when faxed ?
Other than calling and asking, is there something else that can be done ?

Who`s to say that the trustee could have misplaced one of the monthly reports and now I will not qualify for a discharge 9 months after filing for bankruptcy.

Probably the easiest thing to do (if you fax is able) is to produce a transmission report after you send the fax that will show the time, date, pages and recipient of the fax. At least then yiu can prove that you sent it. The added benefit of faxing is that you’ll be able to keep the originals in case you’re asked to resubmit them.

7 or 8 months after your bankruptcy starts your trustee will prepare a detailed review of your bankruptcy. If statements are missing most trustees will contact you and ask you to resubmit them – your discharge should only be delayed if you can’t provide the missing documents and/or proof you sent them in the first place.
