If I am living common-law and we do not have any joint accounts, etc. will my common-law partner lose his/her assets if I declare bankruptcy?

No, they will not (even if your were married instead of common-law they will not).

Your spouse will only be affected in so far that all of the household’s income will have to be declared and it may impact your monthly payment. Otherwise, spouses are not directly involved in bankruptcy (unless they file themselves).
