legal problem
I have legal problem, my husband spend all my credit cards and also stole money which they are suing me for, the are suing me for one millian dollar. I have 2 kids, separated and make only $1,500.00 a month. I don’t own any propertys on have anything of value, I have brought used furniture and I don’t own a car, can i declare bankruptcy if i don’t win the case in court
Before your creditors spend thousands of dollars suing you, I suggest you have your lawyer discuss with them the possibility that you will file bankruptcy. If you do file, the legal action is stayed, but if they have spent thousands of dollars in legal fees they might apply to the Court to hold you responsible for those fees.
Discuss the case with your lawyer – if at the end of the day you are likely to file bankruptcy then you can save everyone (especially yourself) a lot of trouble by doing so before things get to Court.
