threatening an old man

March 26th, 2006 by Questions

I am 64 years old and have too much debt. I am unemployed and don’t have any valuables. I am collecting unemployment this year. Soon I will be getting my pensions when i am 65. Dealing with creditors is horrible. I tell them I have nothing but still they phone. I went to one of these trustees people and he said not to worry . These creditors he said could not touch me and that my creditors know it.The letters keep coming daily and they are more pushy each time.Pay in 7 days or else and then 48 hours ,stuff like that. I haven’t paid a cent to them in 6 months because I am not able to . They even said they would seize my car unless payment in full . I don’t own a car .It is 6 months now and they continue to threaten with court.I tell them fine take me to court. It looks to me as if they are not going to take me to court . I think they already would have if they were going to .I think they are just trying to scare me into paying and have no intentions to follow through.Do you think they would have sued me already if they were going to? It is impossible to deal with these people.

It is difficult to say how long they would wait prior to taking you to court, but at the end of the day if they take you to court they would be able to obtain a judgment but from the sounds of it they would have not ability to collect on that judgment as you are currently what we refer to as “creditor-proof.”
