How is child support affected when an ex-husband goes bankrupt?
January 13th, 2006 by Questions
My ex-husband went bankrupt after we separated. He filed an order at the court which eiminated his obligation to pay child support and any arrears of same to be expunged for five years. All other obligations of the separation agreement related to medical and educational obligations remained.
Does bankrupcy eliminate child support after this five year time? Does it affect any ongoing obligations to provide medical and educational money as outlined in a separation agreement and unaffected by a judges order after the five years? Thank you for answering this question.
