Is it worth filing ?

October 20th, 2010 by Questions

Selling home due to breakup and not enough equity to cover all the costs. Will need to come up with $30,000 to cover the mtg penalty, real estate fees etc. That is $15,000 each. Looking at cost to file and perhaps some suprlus repayment, not to mention a bad credit rating is it worth it to file ? We do have student loans but only 5 years old so I don`t believe would qualify to add. We are both currently employed.

I can’t tell you whether or not it “is worth it to file”, but I can tell you that you should speak to a professional about your situation. Start with your accountant if you have one, or a credit counselor or use the links to find a trustee in your area.

Right now you need to know what your options are and a phopne call or a quick face to face meeting should provide you with the information you need to make an informed decision.
