Utilities

September 10th, 2013 by Questions

I have been discharged from my bankruptcy effective April 2013. Am I absolved from all my debt prior to that date? I have an unpaid utility bill that occurred during my bankruptcy but was not included on my list of creditors. Can I let them know that I was in a bankruptcy during the time of the bill or do I have to pay it? .

Your bankruptcy dealt with any unsecured debts you had BEFORE you filed. If you accumulated a new debt during your bankruptcy you are required to deal with it – the debt was not discharged when you were discharged in April of 2013.
