if I file for bankruptcy will I lose my child tax credit? will the student loans be included>

If, based on your tax returns, you are eligible to receive the CTB then you will cotinue to receive it if you file for bankruptcy.

Student loans are more complicated – you need to have been out of school for more than 7 years in order for student loans to be dealt with in a bankruptcy. The critical date is your “end of study date” – this is the last day you were registered as a student and it is the date the 7 year clock starts.
