If a couple files for joint bankruptcy and then split before they are discharged, does each become responsible for 50%? What if one party does not submit budget sheets?

If you “split” after filing jointly then each of you has to pefrom all of the required duties in order to be discharged. If one of you doesn’t hand in their monthly statements then that person will likely have to go to Court in order to be discharged. Even though you filed jointly, your discharges can be issued individually – of course your trustee may not know this…
