ways to minimize taxes.

December 2nd, 2009 by Questions

I work on commission, and as such, don`t pay source deductions through the year. I think you`ve answered this, but so that I`m clear, if I make RRSP contributions to avoid paying as much tax, and I get it down to close to a wash, I`m still okay? (keep my RRSP and owe little or not tax)
Also, can I choose who does my return? It seems my trustee would not necessarily have my best interests in mind when looking for ways to minimize taxes.
Thanks very much

There is no problem with making RRSP contributions during bankruptcy in an effort to reduce your tax, but only if you are making all of the required payments in the bankruptcy at the same time.

In terms of tax preparation, you can have anyone you want prepare it, just discuss theis with your trustee.
