how my ex filing bankruptcy will affect me

my common-law husband of 9 yrs. left me and then filed personel bankruptcy but i did not.he is making 80,000 per year and i earn 12,000. will i lose my home? it is mortgaged for 44,000. Does he have to pay me alimony?

There are a number of factors that will determine whether or not your ex’s bankruptcy will impact you.
With the house it will matter who is on title and the value of the house. If your ex is on title and there is equity then the house may be at risk.
The other major thing that could happen is if you have signed on any of his debts, those you will be solely responsible that they will be paid in full.
