I am trying to get into the armed forces and I may have to claim bankruptcy after I am in. Do they have the right to fire me?

You need to discuss this with a recruiter – I expect they will tell you it won’t matter, but they may also suggest you file and complete your bankruptcy BEFORE you enlist. That seems to be what most recruits do.
