Collection Activity after filing for Bankruptcy
March 18th, 2009 by Questions
After filing for bankruptcy and a house deemed to have no equity at time of fling is sold and a small gain is had-what happens to the proceeds from the sale ( if any). Do they go to the trustee or those who have filed?

If this is prior to you being discharged this equity would belong to the bankruptcy estate and must be forwarded on to the trustee. Failure to do so would be an offense under the bankruptcy and cvould result in you not being eligible for a discharge.
