Joint Bank Account
August 13th, 2008 by Questions
My elderly father would like to put me on his TD bank account as a security measure if I need to access the funds for his care. TD was one of my creditors but my bankruptcy has been discharged. If I have this joint bank account with my father, will my bankruptcy be disclosed to him? Will there be any jeopardy to his money or his credit rating?

I can’t think of any reason why your bankruptcy would be disclosed to your father – unfortunately there’s really no way for us to know. All I can suggest is when your name is added to the account you have a private conversation with the clerk at TD that assists you and ask them not to disclose it…
