borrowing for RRSP

January 31st, 2008 by Questions

My husband and I were discharged from joint bankruptcy in August `07.
I have done our taxes for 2007 and it looks like we will be getting about $1700 back.

What is the likelihood that a bank would give him an RRSP loan?

I’m sorry, but there are too mnay factors that affect whether or not a bank will grant you an RRSP loan. All you can do is ask…

This is a good way to re-establish your credit, but two words of warning:

1) only borrow what you can repay in 1 year (and take the full year to repay it (don’t pay it off early)

2) If your turned down at the first bank only try one other – every time you apply and are rejected for credit it shows on your bureau. If you are rejected twice in quick succession no one will want to talk to yu for at least a year…
