record of disbursements?

November 19th, 2007 by Questions

Our bankruptcy was discharged in the summer. We have received our discharge papers, long ago, but not received the disbursement papers yet. Should we have received those by now? Calls and emails to our trustee have gone unanswered. Our income tax has not been processed yet, so no GST cheques have been issued since last April and I know that goes to the trustee. Do they need to receive all of the GST payments and such before they issue us the records of disbursement?

The answer to this question is partially dependent on the specifics of your file. However, generally you can expect to loose 4 GST cheques during a bankruptcy. As for discharge papers you should continue to follow-up with your trustee. You have a right to those documents and they have an obligation to provide them.
