Well our appointment was yesterday and we have had a turn of events. Our trustee was wonderful and so supportive. She reccomended however, that we consider bankruptcy versus a consumer proposal. Our debt was high enough that even with our suplus income, we are going to pay less in bankruptcy than we would in making our minimum payments. And because of our debt load we would have had to offer a sizeable proposal 60 to 70 percent. The other factor that we considered was our age. I am 50 and my husband is 52. We want to get back on track ASAP so a five year term doesnt leave us much time to save any money or get ourselves into a better position for retirement. So we have decided to go the bankruptcy route and we sign the documents on December 21. I feel relieved and happy that we are finally doing something to move forward. Yesterday was a rough day, but this morning I woke up feeling better and very relieved.  Cheesy

Thanks for sharing Futureplan.  All the best to you and to those of us just about to file a CP.  21 months is not that far off.

I will keep people here posted though I've got to get our 2010 tax returns out soon.
