Hi all,
I am planning to file for CP. Consulted people @ DSCcanada few months back but did not file, instead made some payments.
I have credit card debts of $23750. Canadiantire MC@9500, MBNA @9500, TD @2500+2250. The insolvency counsellors  said these are not such tough creditors. However, I am scared since I am just get back to some part time job(lost job) and had some tough times in family and failed business). I was assured that my debts can be reduced to almost$6000.
The R7 status will show on my credit for 3 yrs after completion.
I am more worried about my mortgage which is up for renewal in Aug 2013. Though there is a good enough time before its due but it is @ CIBC branch I was an employee and had problems while working there (my manager was a b****). Since I left in october 2010 due to leave of absence(had family emergency and went back home) it started showing on my credit as well. What will happen if I file a consumer proposal? what happens for my renewal. the counsellor said that when i receive the renewal letter just sign it and sen ti back. who deals with renewals? the mortgage centre or the branch? i am and will be regular with my mortgage payments?
Please help as I am very scared and confused. will i be able to get credit from Canadiantire and MBNA in long run. They have been really nice and i feel bad doing this.

FernMoti-also an ex CIBC staffer "gone wrong" lol
I believe your branch will deal with renewals, unless you were to call telephone banking a few months before (early renew window) and have them do it, saving face with the old co-workers.
