OK, this is a stressful time. The simple answer in no, they can't stop you from going bankrupt. I really don't think you have to worry about not being able to go bankrupt (we thought the same thing).
The only problem would be if you were trying to get out of court fines, etc. That will not help you in bankruptcy. As far as unsecured debt, this will be relieved in bankruptcy. Secured debt (mortgage, car loans) are not dealt with in bankruptcy. To get out of secured debt, you must give back the property and then go backrupt (not the other way around!).
So, yes you should be able to go bankrupt.

Hi Obba , i had the same question many months ago with my Trustee. The simple answer is yes , you voluntarintly go into BK Smiley.

EX: If a  Consumer Proposal isnt accepted , then your only other option is BK.There is no other option. Dont stress , move on . Ive been BK for 2 months now & i am back on track w/my life.

Good luck,

ML

Filing Bankruptcy is a simple process even if you only owe a couple of thousand dollars. The process could be a very expensive waist of time and not very pleasant.

Either way why do you think bankruptcy will not work for you?
