Property lien by CRA before I filed for Bankruptcy which is now finished

My wife had a sole proprietorship business in Ontario, Canada. She got behind in paying her Ontario Sales Tax remittance and the provincial government attached a lien on our jointly owned house on May 22, 2009 to recover the outstanding moneys owed. She has since declared personal bankruptcy Jan 1, 2011 which is finished now. My question is if we sell the house, how much of the equity does the government have a claim to? Can they claim my 50% of that equity to settle the lien. For bankruptcy purposes our house had equity of $16,000 or $8,000. The CRA are asking for $27,000. Can anyone help?
Thanks

Hello Canambob
Check with an accountant (a Chartered Accountant) on what can be done.
Check out markfielstein's website about this matter.
They did advertise that they can prepare a position paper to ask CRA to remove a lien on your property if it is the best interest for the owner and CRA. I have not used their services personally but I would be interested in what they will tell you. Good luck and congratulations on completing your discharge !
