Hello,
I have just made made my final payment and received my application for discharge.  How long does it normally take to receive the final discharge certificate after bankruptcy has been completed?

I too am waiting for discharge for second time bankrupcy, had to file 30 years ago when a bad marrage left me drowning in bills thanks to the ex. Request for discharge was sent back in March 2010 and now its August, may take a while.

I never had to file an application for discharge (not sure why) but I was told the last day of my Bankruptcy was the 9th and I got my discharge certificate within 2 weeks after that date in the mail. About 3 months later i got a paper outlining all the creditors that were paid and what the trustee took out of that for payment. About 6 months later I got a letter saying they were closing the trust account they had open for me and creditors ad like 30days to claim any further money owing. That was the last paper I got and I have been discharged for 9months now and just got approved for my first credit card - after several attempts. So thats the time line I had.
