Dear Sir/Madam,

I was discharge in the year 2000, I left Canada in 2001 to work overseas. My question is do I need to apply to get my credit record cleared or does it clear up by itself? Also, If a bankruptcy question on an application is asked what would I answer?

Awaiting your reply, I remain.

Abouseif.

You should contact Equifax or TranUnion to see if the bankruptcy is cleared, which it should have. You must always answer "yes" if asked whether you gone bankrupt, even after this many years. If not, it is considered fraud.

Hello,

I agree with Alex.  Also, get a copy of your credit report and see for yourself if the bankruptcy is there.  If your intentions are getting a mortgage, you should explain your consideration to the mortgage professional you are dealing with.  Always say yes to the question of BK so all your documents will be processed properly.
