I have some credit card debt around 5000. I have not paid any payments for about 6 years. how does it reflect on my credit and what should I do in this case if it is still on my credit report. Thanks.

You will likely have an R8 or R9 on your credit.
The only way to improve this is to make arrangments with your outstanding credit cards to make payments on those oustanding debts. As you manage to pay them off you will find that you will be re-establishing your credit at the same time.
