Can a trustee charge more for a personal bankruptcy procedure than the set rate? For example can they charge $2500 dollars, because they said your file is larger than normal?

Each individual trustee in Canada sets their own minimum cost of bankruptcy. So yes a trustee can set the rate at whatever they choose and it is quite common for that cost to increase depending on the complexity of the situation.
