My understanding is that the filing of a consumer proposal will not impact on your ability to serve as a sponsor for immigartion purposes, BUT BEFORE YOU FILE you shoulod ask the agents at Immigration Canada directly. This is too important a question to rely on second hand knowledge – go right to the government agency and ask them.
