Technically speaking the filing of a consumer proposal is public record. There is a central registry housed by the Superintendent of Bankruptcy that anyone can access and search. It is a registry that is available online, but there is a charge for each name that is searched. As a result we find that this registry, while it exists, very rarely is used outside of the trustee community.
