Bank pension cannot be deposited to other Financial Institution. Account has O/D, at limit. Each month, within minutes of pension deposit, I move funds via EMT to other FI. Once Bank cancels O/D, I will lose ability to pull funds since they will keep to offset balance of O/D and all other loan and credit card debts. Bank & their lawyer showed no interest when I tried to negotiate lower payments. Kept repeating full amount outstanding. What can I do? How do I keep my pension?

He has arranged to pay one with some money down, and $500 a month, and has offered the same to the other, but it was turned over to a lawyer and they have not responded to any of his offers or calls.

My only income is a small disability pension of less than $1000 a month. I have a lot of credit card debt and am currently paying some of them at the minimum required amount but there are 3 or 4 than I cannot give more than a token $25 a month which obviously does not even cover the interest. I am getting calls from those companies. I own an old house jointly with my husband but there is not a lot of equity in it and we also own together a paid for car that is 3 years old but is in my name. Can either of these assets be sezed in any way and if so, only half of it is mine, the rest if my husband\’s. The credit cards in question are in my name only, he is not liable for them.

Recently had a writ of seizure and sale for my home, from a law firm representing capital one, approx $$13,500.00
I have a first and second mortgage on the property and am willing to make payments towards the debt. I think i can afford $2-300.00 per month, would this be accepted? should I consider bankruptcy? I do have debts totalling approx $40,000.00 including RBC that already have a writ against me and are accepting $25.00 per week, as well as cit bank and paying them $135.00 a month. The home is worth $340,000, first mtg @$180k, second @ $80k. any suggestions would be great. Also, on my credit report it shows as capital one writing off my debt, why would they hire a law firm to collect?

I recently had my jeep removed because they decided to seize not sue I was a few payments behind and the interest and payments were very high. Now I just received a letter saying I might have to pay a disposition or may be liable for any deficiency balance that may be owing after they sell the vehicle for what they can get. Can they do this or who would I call to get the correct information I am looking for. I believe I do have a Conditional Sales Contract.( It says that on the top of my sale paper from the dealership.

I currently owe approximately $18000-$20000 to unsecured debt (ie. visa, mastercard and a line of credit), I was wondering if debt settlement would be the right route for me to take? I am currently struggling to make my monthly payments, I hit a patch of bad luck last year and have been struggling to get back of my feet since. I would really rather not claim bankruptcy as I don`t want to lose my vehicle or anything else. I`ve never missed a car loan payment, nor have I missed paying a month of rent. Please let me know if this is a worthy option for me or what else could be suggested.

Hello,
My Uncle and Aunt are in a difficult financial situation. They owe a lot of money on their credit cards – one of them lost their job so they are living on one income. They have been to the banks to consolidate their debt but the banks have said they won`t be able to help them. They need a solution really quick, the more time goes by the more the debt is increasing. Plus they are not very young either, one is 63, the other 57 so they don`t have too much time left work wise. I am not sure what to recommend anymore, can you give some advice on this situation?
Thanks

My ex-husband and I have a joint line of credit that the is unsecured with the bank. He pays it down but the bank refuses to release me from it because without me he does not qualify for the credit. I do because I own a home.

If he should declare bankruptcy, what happens to the account? Will he be removed from it leaving me shouldering this responsibility? He signed in our seperation agreement that he is responsible for payments and getting me off this loan as soon as he is able to, but it doesn`t look like that will happen before the next 5 years.

He uses bankruptcy as a threat, I just want to know if it is a threat that is grounded in fact.

Thank you for your advice.

I am a little confused about Debt Settlement. I contacted a firm because I currently have my debts with a Credit Counselling Service but I cannot afford to keep paying them monthly and if I add the other (unsecured) debt the monthly payment would be to high. My debt is about $19000 (credit card debt) and they have given me a pretty good figure which I can pay off immediately. However, they are telling me that I have to show that I have the ability to pay it off over a certain period of months and that`s what is confusing me. I thought a debt settlement program was where you paid your creditors with one lump sum, immediately.

I owe a lawyer in SK approx 17,000 for collecting child support issues. The entire case has been so absurd. The lawyer stated to me she has never come across a `father who will stop at nothing!! to avoid paying for his children`. The father this time went to an extreme and tried to get the court to say he didn`t have to provide by trying to prove that the children severed the relationship. Which is so untrue and after 19 months and 17,000 dollars legal fees the judge ruled in favor of the children. I can not afford to pay this bill. I tried to negotiate with the lawyer but she refused. I have excellent credit right now and this is such a mess. Please advise

I am a 54 yr.old widow of 16 yrs.. I live on a widows pension from the federal superannuation group, as well as a small CPP pension from my husband. The total of both is $1357. mos. total. I have been unemployed now for 1.5 yrs. I am paying several contract bills per month, that eat up my pension. I am living with a relative for this whole time period, because I can not pay rent. I can hardly pay for food.
I have been served a letter from a lawyers firm, regarding an outstanding amount due from a credit card company.
I can not pay off the $7,400. due at this time. I do not want to go bankrupt, nor
can I afford this, nor a credit settlement.
Is it possible to have a debt. settlement at this late stage of a law suit in progress.
I am proposing to pay some of the interest now for 6 mos.. I need more time to look for work, and get on my feet.
The law firm wants to take me to court.
What can I do to prevent this action in the near future?

Hello, my husband lost his job last october. This january he started work again. We are having a hard time keeping up with all our bills to say the least. We have three children under the age of 5, so we have had to make decisions conerning which bills need to be paid. One bill we have not been able to keep up with is our monthly strata fee of $103. Now we have an overdue balance of around $400, and they say they will be putting a lien on our house. We have been making some payments but not the full amount. We do not pay any interest on these fees as well.
My question is what does this lien on our house mean?

I am paying off a student loan and down to three more payments and it is paid up all my loans will have been paid this year. I negotiated the first one with a lump sum payment, then the current one I did the same and should be done about Dec 2008.

Will this improve my credit rating and how, do I have to send equifax the proof or does student loans do that.

My wife also has one about 10,000 and gathering interest daily. Do credit ratings only affect individuals or do they affect a married relationship, can she apply for the 7 year rule if I am working. I believe that we need to the extra funds and can use them instead of paying them off. This would give us a good start.

Please inform.

Almost done the debt in Saskatchewan.
