Life insurance and bankruptcy?

August 21st, 2007 by Questions

My husband and I applied for life insurance and were denied due to our bankruptcy. Is the life insurance company allowed to deny you because of a bankruptcy? If yes, how can we go about getting insurance? Are there companies out there that will insure someone who was bankrupt?

We have children and now that the bankruptcy has been discharged, we are trying hard to get into a more secure financial position (writing our wills, getting life insurance, protecting our future).

This is the first I have ever heard of this happening and truthfully find it surpriseing. There definately are agencies that are willing to ensure regardless of economic status so I encourage you to shop around.
